Life on the Farm & Book Discussion at Howell Living History Farm – March 9

Saturday, March 9, 12-3 pm at Howell Living History Farm

In conjunction with the NEA Big Read, families and friends of all ages are invited to take part in authentic farm activities from the late 1800s at Howell Living History Farm. Depending on the weather and when the frost has left the ground,  activities may include: workhorse rides, log splitting, fence repair, and making animal feed by shelling and grinding corn.

At 2:30 pm, readers of the novel True Grit are invited to gather in the farmhouse parlor for a guided discussion of the book. This event will be held rain or shine, as befits those hardy souls who have true “grit.”

Howell Living History Farm is owned and operated by the Mercer County Parks Commission.
