Geraldine R Dodge Poetry Festival – Biennial Festival October 2018

The crown jewel of poetry events in the North East and the search for poets is ongoing. One of the many ways they find Festival Poets is through open submissions. Until October 14th, 2017, we will be accepting materials from poets who are interested in reading at the 2018 Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. (The Festival will take place in October 2018, exact dates to be determined.) Submissions will be reviewed by an anonymous panel of three poets.

US I Poet’s Cooperative Poetry Journal

Publishes the notable “US 1 Worksheets” poetry journal each year. Submissions for the next volume begin on April 15 and end on June 30th. Guidelines are on the website.

Poem In Your Pocket Day April 27

Chalk Your Poem to Pavement April 27

National Poetry Month is about sharing and celebrating the wonder of poetry, and what better way to celebrate than by putting poetry in a public place? Go one step beyond hopscotch squares and write a poem in chalk on your sidewalk! Pick a favorite line from a poem and choose a clean piece of sidewalk or pavement to write on.
