Continue the Tradition!
For 140 years, volunteers have been an integral and essential part of the Pennington Public Library. Our volunteers are seniors, teens, graduate students, stay-at-home parents, people who work full-time, Pennington newcomers, and life-long residents. If you’ve been looking for a friendly place with flexible hours, the Library is the place for you!
Volunteers can set whatever hours work best for them. Some volunteers come in weekly for 2 to 2-1/2 hour shifts. Others might come in every other week.
Examples of available duties include:
- Circulation Desk: checking books in and out, answering questions and being the friendly face greeting our patrons
- Shelving books
- Covering books
- Computer data entry
- Providing assistance for Library programs, which can be during the day, evening or weekend
- Website maintenance and updates
The Library offers volunteer opportunities for teens as well. Teens volunteer in the summer and after school. Volunteering at the Library fulfills High School, Community, and National Honor Society service requirements. Teens should fill out the Teen Volunteer Application to make arrangements to get involved and get credit for their service.
Adults interested in volunteering should complete the general Volunteer Application form.
