Art Talk: Tempestuous Beauty

May 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm

Art Talk: Tempestuous Beauty
Presenter: Janet Mandel, Arts Educator

Registration required:  https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_cZx7tWgGRBSPlo2nCngz4Q

Artists have long been drawn to the natural world to stimulate their creativity. The rich symbolism, diverse color palettes, and delicate, changing nature of flowers have been a source of inspiration across cultures for centuries. Join us for this talk where we will be introduced to an array of astonishing images from throughout art history, some iconic and some unfamiliar, reminding us why flowers and gardens give us hope, nourish our souls, and elicit pleasure and happiness.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Pennington Public Library and the Hopewell Valley Arts Council.

About our Presenter:  Janet Mandel taught in New Jersey’s public schools for 32 years, the last eighteen of which were at Columbia High School in Maplewood, where she taught English, art history, and World Languages and Cultures. Now retired, Janet presents illustrated talks on a variety of art history topics at adult schools, libraries, museums, senior centers, community centers, and similar venues.
