For Ages 13 & Up, Teens 13-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian
This course is designed to teach realistic skills, awareness and mental attitude needed to defend against predators and physical harm. Taught by a professional seasoned Self-Defense Expert. Given the current climate and news events this is a MUST for every woman. In collaboration with YWCA Princeton.
About the Instructor:
Mary Jo Colli holds high-level rankings in several real-world Martial Arts. She has trained since 1998 with world-renowned instructor Rick Tucci, 3rd in line in the lineage under Bruce Lee. These arts include Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, Kali, Western Boxing, Silat, Thai Boxing, Mixed Grappling, Jiu Jitsu and Savate.
Mary Jo has been instructing for over 23 years, all ages and levels including women’s only and girls classes and workshops. She has successfully mentored women and taught countless self-defense classes in the Princeton area since 2003. She has a strong passion for empowering females to their true strengths.
This event is part of the 2024 NEA Big Read – an initiative designed to broaden our imaginations and understanding of our world, our neighbors, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. The featured book Circe by Madeline Miller retells a Greek story from the eponymous heroine’s point of view, giving voice to a lesser goddess of Homer’s The Odyssey.
