A large number of titles are available to borrow from the Library’s DVD collection.  Classics, foreign films, documentaries, and hard to find independent films are available from the Library's growing collection.

Storytimes for pre-schoolers and kindergarteners is offered during the school year.

A variety of special programs for children are scheduled throughout the year.

It is Summer Reading season at the Pennington Public Library!

New this summer!! Book Club for Timberlane Middle School Students – The Library is hosting book discussions of selected books from the Timberlane Middle School 6th, 7th and 8th grade summer reading lists. All discussions will be coordinated by High School Honors Students and will take place in the Library:

A Sixth Grade Book Group, coordinated by Joy Frederich will be discussing “Walk Two Moons” by Sharon Creech on July 18, 2008

A Sixth Grade Book Group, coordinated by Kelsey Greener will be discussing “Chasing Vermeer” by Blue Balliett on July 18th, 2008

A Seventh Grade Book Group, coordinated by Sarah Toussaint will be discussing “Al Capone Does My Shirts” by Gennifer Choldenko on July 25, 2008

A Seventh Grade Book Group, coordinated by Eric Tengi will be discussing “The House of Scorpion” by Nancy Farmer. Date to be Announced

The Eighth Grade Book Group, coordinated by Rob Meyer will be discussing “Ender’s Game” by Orson Scott Card on August 22, 2008

All Groups will meet at the Library for book discussion -- 7:00-8:30pm.

Refreshments will be served – registration is preferred but not required.

Wednesday Reading, Games and Craft Program – students entering grades K-5 are invited to join us every Wednesday as we creatively explore bugs in our environment through selected books, entertaining games, unique crafts and even a trip to the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association! Program runs consecutive Wednesdays beginning June 25 – July 23 between 1:00 – 2:30. Registration forms are available in the Library. Registration is required and will be limited to the first 50 patrons. Call 737-0404 for more information.

Independent Reading – sign up to read 1200 “when –ever” minutes this summer and win a free ice cream prize! Stop into the Library for more details and to pick up a suggested summer reading list.

Book reviews – if you enjoy reading and would like to write a review of new or classic books in the Library’s collection, we need you! Please see the display of books in the Library and pick up a book review form. We’ll
post your review in the Library!

The Library welcomes all readers to join its Book Group which meets monthly at the Library on the second Tuesday evening at 7:30 and on the second Wednesday morning at 10:30.
