Busy Town Tradition

Pennington’s Annual Busy Town began in Spring 2012 as an event to honor Pennington’s community helpers and was inspired by Richard Scarry’s children’s book “Busy, Busy Town.” Pennington’s community helpers greet local kindergarteners and nursery school children, talking about their roles in town and often times showing them the tools of their trade, ranging from pizza dough to a fire truck. Organized and sponsored by the Friends of the Pennington Public Library. Some past news articles highlighting Busy Town: 2013 Busy Town via CentralJersey.com and 2017 Busy Town via MercerMe
